holobiont Elegiac, majestic and much more than human. Beautifully arranged tracks. The interplay of overdubbed keys, pads, drones and interferences are consummate - Sei in particular meets this description. More abstract architectures can be felt in Toki and 78 reissem. All Mori’s work is deeply valuable. Favorite track: Sei (Life).

about

"Shifting atmospheres, skittering patterns and raw emotional depth form the basis of Toshihiko Mori's Sei. Inspired by the mountains of Japan, Mori's compositions portray places of both light and shadow that are fragile and delicate yet infinitely massive. Making use of vintage synths, stomp boxes, and various field recordings (and without the aid of software instruments or plug-ins), Mori's thoughtful, detailed arrangements are filled with the sounds of life of another world."
